Autumn hike365 Sept 14th!
Hey ladies! This months Hike365 event is on Sunday Sept 14th and we are heading up to Tent Ridge in Alberta’s own Kananaskis Country!
Name: Tent Ridge Horseshoe, trail head located 2 hours from Calgary.

Tent Ridge Horseshoe is one of the most enjoyable ridge hikes you will ever do according to Gillean Daffern who writes our well used K-Country trail guides and never steers us wrong!
With 3 summits, and views of Tryst Lake + Mount Smuts to name a few, this hike will also hopefully see the larches with some autumn colour to them as this Alberta beauty is prevalent along the way!
We begin our hike up a grassy logging road, then quickly up and out of a cutblock. The trail wanders through forest and comes to Monica Brook at the start of the meadows to the basin at 2.8km
We then scramble up peak 154311 over a 1.3km trek, where we will see Tryst Lake and all of K-Country’s shapeliest peaks!
More scrambling leads us to the Hub at 146308 after .8km. Prior to that we can descend through the larches 244m to Tryst Lake if we want and ascend back to meet the trail towards the Hub where a fresh view will open up and we can see The Fist + Mt Smuts.
Hiking along the ridgeline for 1.6km will bring us to Tent Ridge after a few false tops before we reach the summit with a beautiful view of the Spray Lakes and of the ridgewalk we will have completed!
We will complete our circuit via trail #82 taking 3.6km to return down Gawby Gulch
Trail Rating: Moderate with some scrambling
Distance: 10.1km return
Elevation Gain:823m (2,700ft)
Duration: Minimum 4-5 hours return ( we are looking for girls who also want to take a lot of photos during the hike, which means our hiking time will be a bit longer )
Map: Our route begins on trail #83 using the horseshoe to connect to #82

This is a FREE hike, we are a group of girls meeting at a trail head to hike the same trail. You are responsible for your own self on the trail and we are not liable. By attending this free event you are agreeing to our terms, and must acknowledge our waiver that will be sent to your email.
You are required to email transfer a $25 deposit to firstname.lastname@example.org to complete your registration. This deposit will be paid back to you at the trail head. If you are unable to attend the event or cancel, your deposit is only returned to you provided we can find a girl to fill your spot.
We hope that you understand Hike365 is based on the concept of building community among women who want to meet other girls to hike with and connect in the future on our own hikes. We have a large number of girls who join the wait list for our events, but with short notice often cannot attend if someone cancels. The basis of the deposit is so that if you need to cancel, you do so within an ample timeline and we are then able to get another hike365’er out on the adventure!
Hike365 is only open to women, sorry boys!
Metsä the blue heeler will be joining us on leash at all times . If you want to bring your pup we love the company! We require that your dog remains on leash at all times, and is good with other dogs + people
